You might catch yourself thinking:

The Retirement Plan is a sharp, darkly funny mystery that blends crime with satire in a way that feels both entertaining and uncomfortably real. It pulls you in with its plot but keeps you thinking because of what it’s actually saying beneath the surface.

This is one of those books where the premise alone makes you pause.  

A group of women, long marriages, quiet resentment simmering under the surface… and then a plan that escalates way past what anyone should realistically agree to.

It starts grounded in everyday life routine, relationships, and subtle frustrations, but you can feel early on that something is off. The tone hints at it before anything even fully unfolds.

Let’s just say… nobody here is completely innocent.

Rating: ★★★★☆ 4 out of 5 stars. 

Perfect if you want:

• A mystery that doesn’t feel predictable

• Humor mixed with tension
