Dance of Thieves is what happens when you mix enemies-to-lovers tension, secret missions, witty banter, and “I’d stab you but maybe I’m in love with you” energy into one fantasy book. Mary E. Pearson delivers a story filled with danger, loyalty, family politics, and chemistry so strong it practically jumps off the page.

Kazi and Jase are easily the highlight of the novel. Their constant power struggle, teasing, and reluctant trust make every interaction entertaining. One minute they’re threatening each other, the next they’re emotionally ruining readers without permission.

The worldbuilding feels rich without being overwhelming, and the romance develops naturally instead of feeling rushed. If you love strong female leads, morally gray tension, found family vibes, and fantasy couples that refuse to communicate normally, Dance of Thieves is definitely worth the read.
